DATA COLLECTION
This study recruited 10 participants, male and female, from various age groups and ethnic backgrounds who were screened based on inclusion criteria and scored significantly high on visual height intolerance severity scale.
PROCESS OF INTERVENTION
PROCEDURE
After being recruited, participants read over and agreed to the informed consent form. To ensure that the participants understood the consent form, the researcher read it aloud and explained it. After obtaining consent, participants completed a short screening questionnaire. Participants then completed a demographics questionnaire.
Participants were then randomly assigned to one of the two groups, and the researcher debriefed about the research and psycho-educated participants on fears, phobias, and anxiety disorders. Participants were then explained the different levels of content of each exposure session. During each session, participants were given breaks and engaged in relaxation exercises to avoid motion sickness and cybersickness. Participants then filled out the surveys after the first and the fourth session. Finally, participants were thanked for their time and shown a debriefing document explaining the nature of the experiment.
